CLUB CHAMPION:
The award of ‘Club Champion’ will be based on the performance of members in individual events at club, branch, Country and State levels. Points are awarded as follows:

CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR:
The determination of ‘Club Person of the Year’ will be based on the member’s achievements in the following areas:
* Contribution to the Club
* Attitude and Sportsmanship
* Past achievements
* Awards achieved
* Competition achievements.
The nominations will be received in hand writing and it should be noted that competition achievements, although not forming part of the criteria has been given a low priority in anticipation that the award will not be dominated by the top competitors. The award is designed for everyday members who have made a contribution to the junior movement and who will probably remain and move on to be valuable members within the Senior Club. The ‘Club Person’ will be selected on the basis of a secret ballot involving committee members and Age Managers. The ‘Club Champion’ cannot be nominated for ‘Club Person’.
POINT SCORE COMPETITION
Is conducted on a progressive basis throughout the season. There will be two nominated ‘Point Score Days’, which are indicated on the calendar on page 7 (conditions permitting). There are to be (at the most) two other ‘Point Score Days’, which will be decided by a majority decision by the Superintendent & Age Managers. On a ‘Point Score Day’ points are awarded for the first 6 places.
Participation Points will be allocated towards the pointscore competition if all events are completed during the normal Sunday morning activities Under 8’s will be scored on Wade, Sprint, and Flags. Under 9 – 10 Swim, Board, Sprint, Flags. Under 11 – 14 Swim, Board, Sprint, Ironperson, Flags. The listed events must be all completed before Participation Points can be awarded.
At a ‘Branch Carnivals’ 2 points are awarded for participation and completion of an event and 1 point for non-completion.
At ‘Country Championships’ points will be awarded on the first 6 places i.e. 6 pts for 1st.
At ‘State Championships’ points will be awarded for the first 6 places – n.b. 12pts for 1st.
POINT SCORE - SUSPENDED:
The point score system will not override other activities within the club i.e. award training, team events or skills training. Generally, pointscore will be suspended for an age group when some members are absent for surf club related activities such as senior carnivals, Interbranch Championships or State Carnivals.
N.B. Members must participate in ALL Sunday activities, not only the pointscore events to be eligible to receive the ‘Participation’ points. Members in the Under 9 – Under 14’s who DO NOT participate in the SURF SWIM will not be allowed to participate in the board race or other water activities.
TROPHIES AND MEDALLIONS:
At the end of the season trophies and medallions will be awarded as follows:
* Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the pointscore. Male & Female of each group (excluding Greehats).
* Trophies for all other competitors who achieve 60% attendance & participation.
* Greenhats will also receive a trophy upon 60% attendance & participation.
* An encouragement award trophy for each age group.
* 100% attendance throughout season is significantly recognised
* Medallions are awarded for all other registered members.
